Q and A from Orr's Septic

Do you need help with your septic tank?

Q: How often should my septic tank be pumped?

A: According to nationwide surveys, for a family of four, a septic tank should be pumped every three to four years. Additional recommendations for septic system maintenance can be found at the following website, presented courtesy of ME:

Q: How do you locate the septic tank?

A: If there is a full foundation, check the direction of the pipe that exits out through the wall. As a general rule, the tank will be ten to fifteen feet from the house.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Cost will vary according to the size of your tank and where you are located. Please contact us for an estimate.

Q: How large is my septic tank?

A: The average tank is 1,000 gallons. However, some exceptions exist. For example, homes with two or more bathrooms will require larger tanks.

Q: What should go into my septic tank?

A: Wastewater from your sinks, washing machine, dishwasher, toilets, and bathtubs should go into your septic tank. Garbage disposals can cause problems if there is no filter installed. A good rule of thumb is that if it is not biodegradable, it should NOT go into the septic tank.

WE CAN PROVIDE ALL OF YOUR SEPTIC SERVICE NEEDS!
